RutherglenGer72 Well-Known Member. Do they not do something similar in Italy? Imo they shouldve been used on the shirt for the season after 50 then removed Are we then gonna have 6 stars, then 7, where does it stop? Eventually every Rangers top will look like the sky at night. TN8 Well-Known Member. Their stars are for title wins as well. So you've either just outed yourself talking shite or your big Bayern fan pal doesn't know what their stars are for.

Which is it? Are you all mental? Personally I'd add more. One star for every league title. JW said:. Click to expand Or as a Bayern fan does he not even know what they mean? And just out of interest what was it you couldn't explain to him? I would have thought it was quite simple.

We have won more league championships than any team in the world. Pretty much no other team in the world has right to have that many stars on their shirt and we should be proud especially after everything we have been through over the last couple of years that we have won so many leagues and can do this.

I would be more than proud to explain to anyone who need it explained to them what they mean and represent. Kinda likw they do with the englans cricket team. Each tine we win another trophy we add to it. JayDee Well-Known Member. Rangers moved from the lighter shade of blue to royal blue in , and have had a royal blue home shirt every year since. Black socks were first included in for five seasons before disappearing for eight years but became a more permanent fixture from onwards.

When the red turn-downs were added to the socks in , the strip began to look more like the modern day Rangers home kit. Occasionally the home kit will be altered by the shorts and socks, sometimes replacing the black socks with white ones; or replacing the white shorts and black socks combination with royal blue shorts and socks.

Even some national sides have stars on their shirt, with England having one, Germany having four and Brazil a staggering five. Football Associations in their respective countries abide mostly by different rules, with the Premier League not adopting a system to allow clubs to wear stars on their shirt.

In most cases, a country's governing body will grant teams the right to wear stars for winning a certain number of league titles. For example in Holland, Italy, Sweden and Norway, football clubs will don a star if they have won 10 championships.

However the Bundesliga have a different rule, one star will be added for three league championships, two for five titles, three for ten, and Bayern have four stars because they have won more than 20 times.

Rangers in Scotland have five stars for winning the Scottish league more than 50 times, while Celtic have donned just one star for winning in the European Cup.
