SavalKhana khate vakt Bich me Pani pina Sunnat he? It has been on the news that some UK retailers use sludge, human waste, as fertiliser on their fruits and vegetable. My question is; would it be permissible to consume such products? Should we refrain from eating them?

Food views Q. Is Indian Cadbury chocolate halal or haram? They don't use any halal logo views Q. I work at restaurant. Why is crab not halal? Is crab halal Hanafi? What seafood is haram? Can Muslims eat octopus? What animals are Halal?

Is eating frog legs Haram? Is it halal to eat grasshopper? Is it haram to kill bugs? Is Hanafi Grasshopper halal? Are lizards halal? Is it haram to sing songs? Abu Ubaida took and fixed one of its bones and a rider passed underneath it without touching it.

Shark meat is seafood that majority of scholars classify as halal to eat for Muslims. Shark is a fish that comes from the ocean and all fish-like animals from the ocean are permissible to eat. The Hanafi school is the only school in Sunni Islam that consider sharks to be haram.

Though shark is a carnivorous fish whose main diet is meat this does not make it is haram impermissible to eat. The ruling that forbids consumption of carnivorous animals such as tigers and lions is only for land animals. Generally speaking, many halal fish eat other small fish and invertebrates in the ocean. Bluefin tuna eat squids and shrimps as part of their diet. And salmon eat herrings, amphipods and krill. This does not make them haram impermissible to consume for Muslims.

All fish from the ocean whether tuna, salmon, shark or whale are halal to eat. Whether they eat other small fish as part of their diet or whether they are fish with or without scales. They are all considered halal by majority of the scholars of Islam. Despite the bad reputation Hollywood monster movies have given to sharks. Sharks do not eat humans as part of their normal diet. According to the National Ocean Service, sharks only attack humans when they are confused or curious.

They do not feed or prey on humans. The normal diet of a shark is smaller fish and invertebrates found in the ocean, not human beings. If a shark happened to take a bite off a wandering human in the ocean this would still not make the shark haram to eat. Such rare anomalies do not have any impact on sharia rulings. Allah is Al-Khaliq the Creator of everything.

He created sharks and they have been around for millions of years. But Allah remains silent on this issue. The default ruling on anything which Allah remains silent about is that it is halal. This is based on the words of the Prophet peace be upon him himself. And He has set limits, so do not overstep them. And He has forbidden some things, so do not violate them. And He has remained silent about some things, out of compassion for you, not forgetfulness — so do not seek after them.

Shellfish are aquatic shelled fish often categorized as mollusc or crustaceans. Prawns, Crabs, Shrimps, Lobsters and Oysters are all examples of shellfish.

Majority of the scholars of Islam consider all types of shellfish to be halal. Three out of the four schools of thought in Sunni Islam consider shellfish to be halal.

The Hanafi school of thought is the only exception. They consider all shellfish to be Makruh detestable. The Hanafi scholars say it is Makruh. Squid, Octopus and Calamari are sea creatures and Allah has made everything from the sea that is not harmful halal. Besides the exceptions named. Calamari, octopus and squid are not named in this exception.
