His strength to resist evil, but using its power, as well as having loving bonds between himself and those that support him grant him rank three in the list. Sora, protagonist, hero, savior of the realms; he is the Keyblade wielder that most think of when Kingdom Hearts is mentioned. A heart of goodness, he has the strongest connection to the Light, stronger even than King Mickey, and the two work together to heal the worlds and remove the growing infection of darkness.
By joining his heart to Ventus's broken one, he gains the ability to wield his own Keyblade as well as Ventus's at an early age. His hard work training with Merlin to wield great magic, and never backing down from a challenge to grow himself. He eventually reaches a power to overcome his own heartless, utilizing a single Keyblade. It must be mentioned, though, that Sora is extremely strong on his own, but is bolstered by a group of allies that would sacrifice their own lives to ensure Sora's success.
His hard work, abilities connected with the Light, and his group of supporters grant him rank two in the list, second only to the main antagonist of the entire series: Master Xehanort. As the main villain of the entire series, Master Xehanort takes many forms during the lengthy episodes of Kingdom Hearts.
From original Master that sat beside Master Eraqus, corrupting Terra and possessing him, and shown as Young Xehanort in Birth by Sleep , he is an ever-present evil who's purpose is reforging the Keyblade and overcoming any that might halt his progress. Compared to the others on this list, Xehanort has one of the strongest connection to the darkness and uses this connection to seduce and overcome many of Sora's friends throughout the series. He tried to reforge the X-blade and gave his entire heart over to darkness, throwing away any Light within him and trying to start another Keyblade War.
Though old through most of the series, his physical prowess and incredible magic abilities give Sora many headaches trying to halt his quest. Having the greatest skills with a Keyblade and most advanced powers infused with Darkness, Master Xehanort has been granted the greatest Keyblade wielder in the entire series.
She promises Ventus to return with Terra to wake him up and leaves him in the newly-formed Chamber of Waking. As she leaves the castle, she turns to see the new world she created, Castle Oblivion. She then leaves to search for the missing Terra, but following a brutal fight with Terra-Xehanort, Aqua ends up trapped in the Realm of Darkness. Aware that the destruction of "Ansem" and Xemnas will lead to the reconstruction of Master Xehanort, Yen Sid commands Mickey to summon both Sora and Riku to him, so that they can be tested for the Mark of Mastery in order to become Keyblade Masters themselves and finish Xehanort once and for all.
Donald Duck teases Sora for not attaining the rank of a Keyblade Master. Unfortunately, she has been tainted by the darkness and transformed into Anti-Aqua.
Sora arrives and frees her from the darkness and they all return to the Realm of Light. Keyblade Masters Riku, King Mickey, Aqua join the seven guardians of light to combat the thirteen seekers of darkness that were gathered by Master Xehanort. He proceeds to summon four of the five foretellers , and begins to recount his long tale to them.
All Keyblade Masters share the ability to extract the hearts of themselves or others, this is shown when Master Xehanort extracts the hearts of Aurora and himself. They can also extract part of the heart as well; for instance, Xehanort extracts the darkness from Ventus's heart and creates Vanitas; [2] though Vanitas claims he existed already. Keyblade Masters also have the ability to perform the Bequeathing , a trial in which a person is chosen to inherit the power of the Keyblade by clutching the Keyblade in their hand and allowing it to accept them.
This is shown when Terra performs it on Riku, and when it is accidentally performed on Kairi when she grasps Aqua's Keyblade. In addition to performing the Bequeathing, Masters can conduct the Mark of Mastery exam upon potential Keyblade Masters.
Thus, he became the keyblade wielder. TwilightRiku New member. There are to many keyblade masters sora, riku, bhk, mickey, blindfolded riku. Last edited: Mar 10, One-Winged-Angel New member. But Sora got the KeyBlade. Cael Silver Member. Ummm no. The REAL keyblade master is debatable. Mickey knew about the keyblade before Ansem plunged which is some time ago when Riku and Sora were kids.
Mickey could have had his keyblade then. But still the keyblade must have existed before Riku and Sora was born since it was there when they were kids. Plus Riku doesn't have a keyblade anymore so he isn't a keyblade Master he was just supposed to be and never was [kinda].
So as far as we know Sora has the keyblade. He's the one who got it. He's the one who still has it. Kingdom Hearts is about Sora with the keyblade. He's the one who had the tutorial in Kingdom Hearts the first game. He kept the keyblade after he became a Heartless. He's the one who got all the keychains. So therefore, the Keyblade made the right choice and chose the right master.
Since it chose Sora and not Riku and Sora still has it he is the real keyblade master, no matter what. Mikail That's What She Said. Okay there a re a few keybladewielders. A Master is not necessarily the most powerful Keyblade wielders as Master Xehanort both in his own body and Terra's body and Master Aqua have both been defeated by Sora, who isn't a Master. Like Mickey and Riku, Sora also has the Power of Waking, one of the most powerful abilities a Keyblade wielder or Keyblade Master can possess, despite not having the title of Master.
The Keyblade Master, upon passing the Mark of Mastery exam, is given the choice to either travel to many worlds and explore his or her horizons, or to succeed his or her predecessor and take refuge in his or her own world to protect it from malevolent forces and later take on more apprentices.
In the age of fairy tales, a young boy who had fought in the Keyblade War, with every other keyblade wielders who he himself acknowledged to have been there seemingly dead, with no master of his own would apparently create the mantle of Keyblade Masters and become known as the Master of Masters. The true Kingdom Hearts was lost to darkness following the clash and from those ancient Keyblade Masters, the idea came for masters to train apprentices to wield the Keyblade, but the truth of the ancient Keyblade Masters were lost in history, with them becoming known as the Lost Masters, with the Foretellers having died during the First Keyblade War and the Master of Masters and Luxu, the only survivors, keeping a low profile, leaving the truth effectively concealed.
They both passed, but Eraqus was chosen as their Master's successor. Years later, they both took in apprentices of their own. Eraqus took in a young man named Terra and a young woman named Aqua. Xehanort took in a boy named Ventus. Ventus refused to fight the creatures, because he knew that he was not strong enough to take them on. The creatures attacked Ventus, knocking him unconscious. Xehanort approached his young apprentice and used his Keyblade to unlock his heart , and extract the darkness from within, resulting in the creation of a being with a heart of pure darkness, which Xehanort named Vanitas.
This process left Ventus's heart fractured. Xehanort brought Ventus's nearly lifeless body to his childhood home, Destiny Islands , so he could succumb in peace. However, Ventus's fractured heart was met by a newly born heart of another , and the two became one; just until Ventus's heart was strong enough to survive on it's own.
Ventus then summoned his Wayward Wind Keyblade, which completely surprised Xehanort. Ventus was then taken by Xehanort to his old fellow pupil, Eraqus. At an unknown amount of time before the events of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep , Yen Sid had already trained and took on the title of an Keyblade Master.
It is unclear if he had trained simultaneously along with Eraqus's and Xehanort's Master, or was their Master or a colleague of their Master. By the events of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep , he had retired officially from the position as a Master, though he took his former apprentice, Mickey Mouse as his apprentice for more training. After many years of training, Terra and Aqua were ready to take the Mark of Mastery exam.
