Who is diesel in wwe

His cool, laid back, demeanor would be his trademark, but when the bell rang, Nash did what he needed to do to get the job done. Both characters had their strengths and faults, but only one of them can best represent Big Sexy. While the Finger Poke Of Doom will always be debated if it was the moment when WCW started to go downhill, the record books will forever show that Kevin Nash was defeated by being poked in the chest by Hollywood Hogan. Throughout his career in WWE, Diesel was never squashed.

While Kevin Nash played the role of booker behind the scenes, he also played one in front of the camera. Nash would rule over the company for slightly longer at about a month before The Natural Born Thrillers, a team he was mentoring, turned on him, and took the title away from him.

While Diesel had friends in powerful positions, he never had the stroke that Big Sexy had. Anyone who went through adolescence in the 90s will remember Pamela Anderson.

She was a hidden poster in most young boy's bedrooms and one of the reasons that Baywatch was so popular. As Diesel entered the ring for his match with "The Hitman," there were even some audible boos. On the other hand, Bret was hugely backed by the fans in attendance, a stark contrast to their Royal Rumble square-off in which both competitors were cheered loudly.

If this article causes you to go back and re-watch any match after reading, your writer highly recommends this one. Fought under no disqualification rules, Nash signed off his day title reign with one of his best WWF performances to date.

Hart was excellent, as always. At one point, he even took a crash landing through a table in a stunt virtually unheard of in WWF. Surprising Nash with a small package, and with Diesel kicking out at three and a half, Bret was, once again, sat on top of the WWF mountain.

After this main event had finished, Diesel attacked the new champion. Hitting him with his Jackknife Powerbomb and leaving Hart destroyed in the ring, "Big Daddy Cool" left the arena to a chorus of negativity from the paying public.

In hindsight, turning Kevin Nash here was the right decision. Hart was still very popular, and Michaels was becoming a fan favorite with his incredible ring work. With The Undertaker still on the babyface side, the WWF found themselves in the opposite situation to when Nash first won the title. Diesel becoming a fan hero when he won the belt eased the lack of popular main event stars, whereas here when Nash lost the title, the WWF found themselves in much need of villains instead.

On both occasions, the 7-foot Diesel filled a gap, something neither Michaels nor Hart could have done for differing reasons at both those times. Famous for the send-off given to Nash and Hall by Michaels and Triple H, this event became known as the "Curtain Call" and is discussed and debated by wrestling fans to this day. WCW Bash at the Beach, Nash would return to the WWE with the nWo in Another singles run would follow, challenging Triple H for the World Title at various events in Nash was frustrated that, as world champ and the face of the company, he did not headline WrestleMania XI against Shawn Michaels.

I love Vince McMahon and what he and the company did for me. The Hulkamania era was over for Vince, and he was looking for the next big thing. Though I was never the biggest fan, Degeneration X, a bit of an nWo ripoff, was big. Some of the reactionary measures, on the other hand, stank. Fake Razor and Fake Diesel was one of those. It was bad, Gobbledy Gooker bad. And crabby JR on the match call is fantastic. On the other hand, when heel JR was the stick doing a stand up promo during this time, his quick wit often abandoned him.

The plan they did have in mind was based on a backstage impression. Apparently, he did a funny Razor Ramon impersonation in the locker room. And that, only that, birthed an entire angle when WWF creative got word of it.

Neither Jacobs nor Bognar pulled it off very well. A locker room impersonation is one thing. Actually donning the Razor gimmick tights and boots and doing an appropriation is an abomination.

And it came off that way. In doing so, Nash managed to controversially break Goldberg's long running undefeated streak; as Goldberg was setting up for a spear late in the match, Hall, who was still a member of nWo Hollywood at the time, shocked Goldberg with a taser while he was in the corner. Hall had been dressed as a security guard waiting outside the ring for his opportunity.

Nash pinned the incapacitated Goldberg to win his second World Championship and his first since Nash, however, said that he was not happy about the way the match ended and offered Goldberg a rematch. On January 4 , , Nash and Goldberg were set to meet in that rematch, but the match did not happen because of Goldberg being arrested for kayfabe stalking Miss Elizabeth.

That night also marked the return of Hulk Hogan after his "retirement" two months prior. With Goldberg unable to wrestle, Nash challenged Hogan instead. In the controversial " Fingerpoke of Doom ," Hogan simply poked Nash in the chest, who proceeded to fall down and willingly allow Hogan to pin him for the title. The gesture, in addition to turning Nash heel again, marked the reunion of the feuding nWo factions into one for the first time since the night following Spring Stampede when the official nWo split took place.

However, the return would be short lived and by the midpoint of the nWo reunion was over. Backstage, Nash wrote some of the later angles for WCW. Nash's booking abilities are widely considered as one of the many reasons the quality of wrestling in WCW suffered while he was lead booker. The name had previously been coined by The Honky Tonk Man on several radio interviews.

Bret's brother, Owen , died in a wrestling stunt, however, just as Bret was flying to Los Angeles; this immediately canceled their match and feud. Nash then entered a feud with the returning Randy Savage, who was turned heel and given a new look and attitude to match. Nash was pinned by Savage and lost his championship, but would get his revenge the next night on Nitro in a title match between Savage and a returning Hulk Hogan, and in a similar situation to Savage's first title defense from the previous year, he used a Jackknife Powerbomb on Savage, preserving the victory for Hogan.

The following week, however, Nash attacked Hogan and turned heel during a match pitting Hogan against Vicious. This would not last long either due to the injury of Hart, the group's leader, and Nash spent most of feuding with the likes of Terry Funk , Mike Awesome , Scott Steiner , and Booker T.

However, he would eventually lose it back to Booker T later on at Fall Brawl. Nash aligned himself with Dallas Page, forming a team called "The Insiders". Shortly after, they were stripped of the titles by Commissioner Mike Sanders in mid-December.

Weeks later, they won the titles back at Starrcade As he had a guaranteed contract with Time Warner-AOL, Nash chose to wait out the remainder of his contract, which expired on December 31, Their rehiring was announced several weeks before their debut, with Vince McMahon claiming to have hired the nWo in order to destroy the WWF.

In the course of the evening, the nWo delivered an interview in which they claimed to have reformed, gave a six pack of beer to Stone Cold Steve Austin which he refused , and traded insults with The Rock. They interfered in the main event of the evening, helping Chris Jericho retain his Undisputed Championship against Austin. In March, Nash suffered a biceps injury that put him out of action for several weeks, and almost immediately upon returning, suffered a quadriceps tear in a tag match on the July 8 episode of Raw.

Vince McMahon disbanded the nWo following those events. Nash was given an ultimatum at the time due to Shawn Michaels and Triple H feuding. As part of the storyline, Nash was to choose to remain friends with either Michaels or Triple H. After Nash would not make the decision, Triple H made the decision for him and turned on him with a low blow.

This led to Nash feuding with Triple H for the next few months which would eventually lead to a Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood with Mick Foley as the special guest referee. In August , Nash feuded with Chris Jericho and was forced to cut his hair after losing a hair vs. He was the first one eliminated after being pinned by Jericho following Sweet Chin Music from Michaels.

After he was pinned, he Jackknife Powerbombed everyone in the chamber.
